GO! Southampton recently supported Get Inspired, an interactive careers event, organised by EBP South at the O2 Guildhall Southampton on Wednesday 7th November to inspire young people about careers available to them on their doorstep.
The annual interactive event organised by EBP South and sponsored by Ford, Southampton City Council, GO! Southampton and SUN Partnership inspired over 1400 young people aged 13 – 18 to discover different careers and learn about career pathways.
Businesses, universities, colleges and apprenticeship providers exhibited with an activity that gave young people a hands-on practical approach to find out about careers in their organisation.
Rebecca Handley, Operations Director at Go! Southampton said, ‘Get Inspired Southampton is a fantastic opportunity to showcase the wealth of opportunity in Southampton and to inspire the future generation.’
Get Inspired is an important event that gives young people to opportunity to learn about potential jobs that they can aspire to and gives organisations an opportunity to be proactive in developing their recruitment pipeline.
Suzanne Lewis, EBP South Project Manager said, ‘EBP South Get Inspired events to provide young people with the opportunity to learn about careers directly from employers at a crucial time in their life when they are making important choices about their next step.’

EBP South’s Get Inspired events take place across Hampshire including, Portsmouth, New Forest and Basingstoke. They are free for businesses to exhibit at and young people to attend.
