Southampton’s beloved Bedford Place Summer Festival is set to light up the city once again with an even bigger line-up of entertainment on Sunday 22nd June from 11am until 6pm.

Sponsored by the city’s Business Improvement District GO! Southampton, this year’s annual free-to-attend festival will offer three unique entertainment areas with music from ‘festival favourite’ Still Moving DJs, choirs, dancing, creative art activities and circus workshops, as well as over 50 independent traders, live music, street food, drinks and more.

The festival is organised by local traders and shines a spotlight on Southampton’s local businesses and organisations that make up the beating heart of the city.

Organiser Matt Sanger said: “The Bedford Place Festival this year will be a true moment to celebrate what is great about Southampton, from the new in ZoieLogic’s Big Movement area, The Music in the City stage to favourite traders from previous years like the brilliant Woosabi, Five Boroughs Pizza and Canopy Botanicals to those fresh to the event.  It’s going to be great day out for the whole family.”

The Big Movement, a male mental health initiative organised by Zoielogic connecting people through dance, will be bringing Wilton Avenue car park to life at the festival.

Zoielogic’s Artistic Director Zoie Golding MBE said: “We’re excited to be part of the Bedford Place Summer Festival alongside other amazing organisations in the city and beyond. The Big Movement is all about breaking down barriers and changing perceptions of mental wellbeing through community, movement and connection. The Big Movement is for everyone: the dad dancers, shape-cutters, shower singers, and roof-raisers. If you or someone you know is always drumming on the steering wheel, first on the wedding dancefloor, or turning the kitchen into a club, then come and see what it’s all about!

“The Bedford Place Summer Festival is a perfect opportunity to drop in, say hello, find out more and take part in the joy of the project! There is something for everyone, so bring your friends and family!”

Flo Bevis, Marketing Director at GO! Southampton said: “We’re really excited to be getting behind an even bigger show this year. We’re hoping for a great turnout, offering a chance for visitors and residents to experience everything Southampton has to offer.”

The festival is free to attend and aims to be a celebration of Southampton’s local community, businesses and culture.
