GO! Southampton has teamed up with Snow Windows to bring the magic of Christmas to the city for another year – with a few new surprises to unwrap along the way.
The Snow Windows Trail is a free walking trail that takes place in the city centre from Saturday 29th November and Sunday 4th January.
With 22 venues taking part from London Road to the Hanover Buildings, the Snow Windows are inspired by winter wildlife, nature, Southampton’s landmarks and quirky characters transforming windows into beautiful snow scenes.
Trailers can pick up their maps from key information hubs, hotels, transport links and cultural venues and choose between the Snowflake and Star routes, to take a festive journey across Southampton and answer the quiz questions along the way. Plus, there are secret QR codes at each stop that will unlock discounts, rewards and giveaways at local venues and independent retailers.
Those who complete the journey can hand in their map at the SeaCity Museum to claim a free prize and be in with the chance of winning an ultimate Winter Package. The prize includes an overnight stay at The White Star Tavern, family day ticket to the SeaCity Museum and Tudor House and Garden, four tickets to The Princess Proms at the O2 Guildhall, four tickets to Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show at Mayflower Studios and a £100 Matalan gift card.
Executive Director at GO! Southampton, Stephen Manion said: “We hope the trail will encourage visitors and residents to step outside and explore other areas of the city centre like the Cultural Quarter, London Road and Commercial Road, driving footfall to the city centre. It’s a chance for families and friends to get to know the city and to help local businesses shine.”
Snow Windows specialise in transforming ordinary window-fronts into magical winter scenes. The company has worked with a number of big names such as TikTok, This Morning, Odeon and The Royal Mint.
