A free to attend festival of colour will bring Guildhall Square to life with music, dance and culture this spring.
Back by popular demand, Holi Hungama returns to Southampton for a second year on Saturday March 7th from 12pm to 6pm with bigger, better and brighter festivities.
The festival will offer live music by DJ Mav, Bollywood dance by Rhythm Performances, traditional colour play, children’s rides, arts and crafts activities with John Hansard gallery and food stalls serving Indian delicacies.
Sponsored by the city’s Business Improvement District (BID) GO! Southampton, the family-friendly event is open to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Holi is a Hindu celebration which marks the arrival of spring and the end of winter, symbolising unity, love and victory of good over evil. Last year, the festival’s debut in Southampton saw staggering success with more than 2,500 attending on the day.
The event is organised by the Hampshire Indian Community which collaborates with the region’s councils, universities, sports clubs and other organisations to promote cultural awareness and community wellbeing across Hampshire.

Anjali Mavi, co-founder of HIC, said: “Our dedicated Holi team – including myself and Renu Dublish -is working hard once again to ensure a spectacular and well-organised celebration. After the incredible success of last year, we are proud to make Holi Hungama an annual event for Southampton. We are focusing on every detail – from vibrant decorations and music to children’s activities – while continuing to prioritise health and safety.”
Stephen Manion, Executive Director at GO! Southampton, said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Holi Hungama to the city once again. This is a joyous and colourful celebration that puts our diverse communities and cultures at the forefront. It’s the perfect way to welcome back longer, warmer days spent outdoors with friends and family.”
Holi Hungama 2026 is proudly supported by GO! Southampton, Sanjha and Bayleaf Kitchen along with Southampton City Council, various local businesses and community groups.
