GO! Southampton has revealed even more fabulously festive fun with the return of the city-centre Christmas trail – and there’s something a little different in store to make 2024 the best year yet.

From Friday 29th November to Tuesday 31st December, visitors to Southampton will discover beautifully decorated snow scenes and Christmas characters on the windows of around 20 venues as part of the Snow Windows Trail.

On this FREE family walking trail, organised by the city’s BID team GO! Southampton and sponsored by Brackenwood Windows, participants will be able to do the North Pole and/or South Pole trails where they can find stunning individually designed windows created by Snow Windows.

Families will need to find the clues to reveal the festive word and then they can exchange their completed map at HMV and MAST Mayflower Studios. Trail maps will be printed and distributed around key venues in the city as well as put in book bags across primary schools in Southampton. You can see where to pick a map or download it here.

The artwork will start to be installed from 14th – 16th so make sure you look out for Snow Windows in action. Can’t wait until then? Southampton Football Club is having their very own mural installed on Sunday 10th November, outside the Saints Store at St Mary’s. Christmas gifts are now on sale so head down to grab yours.

This is the latest activity announced in a jam-packed line up of FREE festive fun in the city centre this Christmas. Plus, there is just one week to go to the Countdown to Christmas event, including Meet & Greets with Paddington in Westquay, Christmas Tree Climbing in Watts Park, Elves Behavin’ Badly Show, toob’s Silent (Night) Disco, gonk-making workshops, live music and more!

On Friday 15th November, visitors can see 2024 Britain’s Got Talent winner Sydnie Christmas headlining the main stage, alongside award-winning actor and comedian Kev Orkian and, the premier showing of the market’s light show on the Bargate.

Stephen Manion, Executive Director at GO! Southampton says there is something for everyone this festive season and the schedule promises to be bigger and better than ever.

He said: “Not only is it hoped that these activities can help spread a bit of Christmas cheer, it also ensures that people keep coming into the city in the run up to December 25th to support local businesses. There’s plenty on offer to keep the kids entertained – and it’s free!”

Brackenwood Windows are proud to be Headline Sponsors of the Countdown to Christmas event and the Snow Windows Trail. Allan Forbes, CEO, said: “It’s been great working with GO! Southampton to deliver this project. The Christmas trails are popular every year – and this one is set to be the best one yet!”

Keri Ackling, Director of Snow Windows said: “We hope our bespoke designs help get everyone into the festive spirit this year – and make sure you keep your eyes peeled for those clues that could win you a prize!”
