Visitors to Southampton this Easter can crack on to an egg-cellent free trail through the Old Town to help the Easter Bunny gather everything he needs for a merry tea party.

Organised by the city’s Business Improvement District (BID) GO! Southampton, the much-loved trail runs from Saturday 28 March – Sunday 12 April and invites visitors to explore the city centre.

Following a free trail map to find colourful posters displayed in shop windows, cafés, bars and other venues around Southampton’s Old Town, visitors can help the Easter Bunny plan a tea party for his friends.

Some of the businesses taking part are Padharo, Platform Tavern, room2 and The White Star Tavern, with the trail passing by some of the city’s fantastic highlights including the Tudor House and Gardens, God’s House Tower, The Woolhouse and Bargate.

Each trail stop reveals an illustration of an item he needs to make the tea party a success. Once participants have found them all, they can hop to the final stop at HMV, where children will receive a small prize for their hard work.

Participants who complete the feedback section on their trail map will also be entered into a pri

ze draw to win tickets ticks to Southampton Summer Sessions. This years’ lineup includes Pete Tong, Amy McDonald, The Beach Boys and Billy Ocean.

Ankit Vaghela, Owner of Padharo said: “Easter is such a special time for families, and that’s something that really resonates with us at Padharo. In Indian culture, family is everything – it’s at the heart of everything we cook and everything we do. That’s exactly why we’re running kids eat free throughout the Easter holidays, because we want families to be able to come together, relax, and enjoy a proper meal without worrying about the cost.

What we love about being part of the GO! Southampton Easter Trail is that it encourages people to wander into parts of the city they might not always find themselves in. Southampton’s Old Town is a genuinely beautiful part of the city, full of hidden gems, and East Street is packed with interesting independent businesses. Events like this give families a real reason to explore and discover it together. We hope people follow the trail, find their way to us, and leave feeling like they’ve had a little adventure!”

Stephen Manion, Executive Director of GO! Southampton, said: “We’re delighted to bring the Easter Trail back for 2026. It’s a free, fun activity for families and a great way to explore everything our city centre has to offer during the Easter holidays. Events like this help bring valuable footfall into Southampton and support local businesses by encouraging visitors to stay longer, shop, eat and enjoy their time here.”

Over 9,000 trail maps will be delivered to 30 primary schools across Southampton. Trail-goers can also pick up a map from locations around the city or download and print at home. Find out more details via the Visit Southampton website www.visitsouthampton.co.uk/easter-trail/
