Delivered with partners, businesses and communities across the city, local residents and visitors can look out for exciting events and activities across the digital screens in the city, social media channels, email bulletins and partner networks throughout the city.

Residents and visitors can look forward to a packed programme of events and activities, including:

Our vibrant events paired with our fantastic cultural attractions, such as the recently refurbished City Art Gallery, are a vital part of our new Growth and Prosperity Plan, bringing opportunities for local businesses and local people to thrive and prosper.

Stephen Manion, Executive Director of GO! Southampton added: “Major sporting events like the World Cup are exciting times for Southampton’s hospitality and leisure venues, with local residents and visitors attracted into the city centre to enjoy watching the matches in the friendly atmosphere of our wonderful restaurants, pubs and clubs.”
Local businesses, organisations and community partners are encouraged to support the campaign by sharing #SummerInTheCity content and helping spread the message across their own networks.
Councillor Sarah Bogle, Leader of Southampton City Council said: “For me, summer in Southampton is all about exploration, culture, sport and family time. Planning for our events begins months and years in advance and every year we see incredible collaboration between city partners, businesses, cultural and creative organisations and community groups.
Together, we are creating a summer programme that reflects the very best of Southampton and everything our city has to offer. From world-class events and cultural experiences to our rich maritime history, thriving retail offer and outstanding hospitality sector, Southampton truly is a one-stop destination for summer experiences. We have an incredible summer of sport looming too, with the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup and the FIFA World Cup starting this month.”
The campaign aims not only to increase participation in events but also to strengthen civic pride and encourage people to rediscover Southampton as a destination in its own right.
A spokesperson for Southampton Destination Partnership said: “There is so much to celebrate here in Southampton, and it has been great to see the Destination Partnership working together to show case the huge variety of what’s on offer in the city. This all helps with our ambition to create a vibrant cultural destination that people want to visit, discover and explore. We look forward to continuing to work together on showcasing this great city with all that it has to offer.”
