Youth Worker- No Limits

We have an exciting opportunity to be part of our Emergency Department Team at No Limits, providing intensive one to one support to children and young people within Southampton.

About No Limits

No Limits is the leading youth services charity in Southampton, supporting children and young people in the city and across Hampshire.

At No Limits, it is important our staff and volunteers reflect, represent and have experience of the challenges faced by the children and young people we support. We are proud and appreciate our many staff and volunteers who use their own lived experience to support the children and young people they work with.

With this in mind, we are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of our work and organisational culture – and when recruiting, it’s important to us that we continue diversifying our staff and volunteer teams, with children and young people at the centre of everything we do.

When we talk about talent, we value the transferrable skills and experiences you can bring to No Limits, which can be through work (in the same or a different sector), volunteering or personal experiences. To make sure we get the best talent on our team, we are open to and actively encourage applications from all backgrounds and sections of the community, including diverse ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQIA+, disabled and neurodiverse.

If invited to interview, please let us know if we can support you at interview with any reasonable adjustments, such as flexible working, access arrangements or a suitable place to pray.

About the role

The No Limits Emergency Department and Social Prescribing Team work across the five main hospitals in Southampton, Portsmouth, Winchester, Basingstoke and the Isle of Wight.

Our unique service delivery model aims to support all children and young people, and our growing team of Youth Workers are caring, collaborative and courageous professionals who are committed to empowering children and young people to achieve positive changes in their lives. They have been working with the ‘reachable moment’ when a young person attends the Emergency Department (ED) in crisis, whether that is through violent crime or mental health crisis to help them to start thinking about change.

We are looking for a youth worker to join our Southampton team. The successful applicant will provide direct support to children and young people, both in ED and in the community by helping them to connect with specialist support and other community services through Social Prescribing.

To apply for this post, you must have a passion for supporting children and young people, be a strong communicator and have experience of working with children and young people.

We are committed to making a difference to the lives of the children and young people we work with, and as such you must show a willingness to demonstrate commitment to the values and behaviours which flow from the No Limits ethos. Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people is paramount.

We welcome applications from all sections of the community and are committed to ensuring diversity and inclusivity. We are proud that many of our staff and volunteers are using their own lived experience to support children and young people facing similar challenges.

As part of our team, you’ll receive a comprehensive induction and access to learning and development opportunities that are relevant to your role and to support your ongoing development.

Interested..? We’d love to hear from you!
