Shoppers in Southampton are in for a special treat this festive season with GO! Southampton’s ‘Big Christmas Giveaway’.
The city’s Business Improvement District (BID) has launched a festive giveaway and lucky shoppers are set to win a range of prizes, including hotel stays, meals, theatre tickets, gift vouchers, and much more.
Until 1st January 2023, people spending over a certain amount in participating stores, will automatically receive a competition slip that can be entered into a prize draw.
The Big Christmas Giveaway, which was designed to help support the city’s businesses in a difficult time for the high street, will be bringing some all-important festive cheer to Southampton.
Stephen Manion, Executive Director at GO! Southampton said: “Our city is full of vibrant and exciting businesses, from cosy bars and cafes to quirky gift shops and major high street brands. For those who choose to shop local during this festive season, we want to offer fantastic opportunities to win a selection of fabulous prizes to say thank you.”
Buyers who receive the giveaway competition slips, can either complete and return them to the shop’s staff, or they can post them in one of two designated Christmas post boxes located in The Marlands and Westquay shopping centres.
One of the businesses taking part in the campaign and offering a prize is Decathlon in West Quay Retail Park. Store Manager Tobias Hussey said, “We are really excited to be part of the Big Christmas Giveaway this year. By shopping local you could not only win yourself a great prize but you’re also supporting the local economy and helping to keep our wonderful community thriving. This is a great initiative from the BID and may be the boost businesses need in these challenging times.”
Decathlon are offering a Riverside 500 Hybrid bike as a prize.
All completed slips will be entered into the ‘Big Christmas Raffle’, and winners will be drawn and contacted in the first week of January.
