We have an exciting opportunity to provide emotional wellbeing and mental health support to young people aged up to 17 years old across Hampshire, Southampton and Portsmouth.

Your Role 

We are looking for a Youth Wellbeing Practitioner– Group Work to join our team. 

Your role will involve working as part of our Community Counselling service, supporting children and young people up to 17 years (up to 25 for care leavers and those with special educational needs) across Hampshire, Southampton, and Portsmouth. Your role will involve delivering emotional wellbeing and mental health support via a youth work-based intervention and support model. You will provide initial and ongoing triage of children and young people being referred into the service, supporting with self-help opportunities, and delivering one-to-one and group interventions across Hampshire as well as conducting assessments for our counselling service.  

Regular travel across the county including Southampton, Portsmouth and Hampshire.  You will be an essential car user with flexible working.  Hybrid delivery including remote and home working.

You’ll have the essentials of: 

  • A Youth Work and/or Mental Health Level 3 qualification (or equivalent), or equivalent professional experience 
  • Experience of working with, and supporting children around mental health and emotional wellbeing 
  • Experience of case holding and maintaining client files 
  • Ability to build trusting and positive relationships with young people and with partner, statutory organisations, and stakeholders. 
  • Experience and working knowledge of effective interventions with children and young people  
  • The ability to use IT to support your role, including the use of technology and Microsoft suite   
  • A commitment to personal growth, continuous development, and application of learning  
  • The ability to meet the travel requirements of the post throughout the identified service patch  

You may also have: 

  • Experience of working with families and carers  
  • Lived experience of one or more areas that No Limits support children and young people  
  • Experience of engaging young people with challenging behaviours and/or complex needs

Role terms 

Salary: Band C – £23,831 to £25,528 (Full-time equivalent, pro-rata for part time)
Hours: 32 hours per week, Monday to Friday – happy to talk flexible working.
