RETAIL STAFF ROLE
The National Needlework Archive (NNA), a textile art charity, is opening a new pop-up shop in The Marlands Centre, Southampton. The shop will sell donated and recycled needlecraft items—fabric, haberdashery, kits, books, rug-making supplies, and NNA promotional items. Guest artists will also showcase and sell their work.
Role Details:
- Positions: 2 staff members (2 days/week each)
- Shop Hours: Wednesday–Saturday, 10:30am–3:00pm
- Start Date: Shop opens Wednesday 26th November 2026
- Christmas Closure: 20th Dec – 2nd Jan
Responsibilities include:
- Running the shop independently
- Supervising volunteers
- Managing stock, till, and customer service
- Organising small events and maintaining social media
- Cleaning, repacking, listing eBay items
- Recording donations and liaising with NNA HQ in Newbury
Requirements:
- Retail experience and interest in sewing/crafts preferred
- Commitment, creativity, and reliability
Accessibility: Shop is ground floor; disabled toilet available via lift.

VOLUNTEER ROLE
We’re looking for friendly, creative volunteers to support our exciting new pop-up shop in The Marlands Centre, Southampton. If you can spare a few hours a week and enjoy working in a cheerful, craft-focused environment, we’d love to hear from you!
Volunteer roles may include:
- Assisting customers
- Displaying and organising stock
- Preparing needlecraft items for sale
- Supporting day-to-day shop operations
No specialist experience is required—just enthusiasm and a willingness to help.
Accessibility: The shop is on the ground floor, with a disabled toilet available via lift.
