About You:

You will be part of the busy Contracts and Commercial Services team undertaking multi million-pound projects throughout our estates across the city.  Your duties will include;

  • The installation of Loft Insulation to dwellings within Southampton City Council housing portfolio
  • Monitoring of materials used
  • Customer/client liaison.
  • Upholding the high standards of Housing Operations

Experience and knowledge in this field is preferable.

You will need a full driving licence in order to drive our vehicles and will also be required to undergo a DBS check as part of the pre-employment checks.

As the work is varied a flexible approach is required to meet changing needs and tight deadlines. Excellent customer service skills, enthusiasm, and a ‘can do’ attitude is all essential as you’ll be our ambassador when you visit our customers’ homes to carry out repairs and installations to the highest of standards You will liaise with residents, peers and colleagues on a daily basis so communication and customer focus will be essential to the role. Organisational, customer service, time management and physical skills are key to this role.

You will work 37-hour week plus an additional 2 hours TOIL (Time Off in Lieu). The TOIL equates to 12 days annual leave year, in addition to your basic entitlement of 25 days annual leave per year (not including bank holidays).  This leave increases to 28 days after you have completed 5 years of continuous service. Additional information:

  • The working hours for this role are 37 hours per week plus 2 hours toil.
  • This is a permanent position.
  • Please note that appointments are usually made at the bottom of the salary scale.
  • This post requires a DBS check.
