Active Bystander training – June 2026
June 25 @ 3.30pm - 5.30pm
Most harmful situations aren’t dramatic emergencies—they’re subtle, uncomfortable, and easy to overlook. This Active Bystander Training session helps participants recognise these moments and feel confident taking safe, effective action.
Through interactive discussion and real‑world examples led by Jade McCauley (GO! Southampton) & Francesca Prior (Southampton City Council), the session explores how unconscious bias shapes what we notice, how we interpret behaviour, and whether we choose to intervene. Attendees will learn practical tools to challenge harmful behaviour, support others, and contribute to a safer, more respectful community.
What You’ll Learn
- Understanding unconscious bias and how it influences decision‑making
- Recognising subtle signs of distress or inappropriate behaviour
