Welcome Host Gold Course (2) Barova Room, NST City

People working, living and studying in Southampton are joining forces to make our city truly world-class. Be part of the journey by training to be a Welcome Host – a true ambassador for the city. This training will help you improve your customer service skills while at the same to teaching you how to promote Southampton to your customers, giving them the best experience they can have in the city. Being part of a group of city ambassadors will help your business through cross promotion with other businesses and better TripAdvisor ratings through improved customer service.

This course is aimed at the staff of BID member businesses who have direct contact with visitors, such as hotel staff, waiting and bar staff, retail staff, taxi drivers and staff at attractions.

This course is the second of three dates (the next date after this will be 1 July).

The course will be instructed by Katie Belo dos Santos.

The cost of the training including all course materials is covered by GO! Southampton and the project has been part-funded by the Discover England Fund South Coast Cruise Project. The ticket price above covers refreshments throughout the day.

Upon successful completion of this training, you may wish to become a City Champion and be part of our Programme of Accreditation. All participants will be asked to join a list of “reservists” who will be contacted from time to time about volunteering opportunities, such as at the cruise terminal welcome desk and the Southampton Boat Show.

Optional Exam

At the end of the session, participants are invited to sit an option exam for a supplementary fee of £20. Those passing the exam will gain a City & Guilds Level 2 Award in the Principles of Customer Service. All delegates will receive an attendance certificate and those that took the C&G exam (if passed) will receive a C&G certification. The fee of £20 will be invoiced to the companies directly.
