Visit Southampton has launched a photography campaign and prize draw inviting residents and past visitors to share their favourite photos of the city to help showcase the very best that Southampton has to offer.
Using the hashtag #OurSouthampton on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter, participants are encouraged to delve into their camera rolls and relive the things they love most about Southampton.
Qualifying posts will automatically be entered into a free prize draw; the winner will receive a bundle of fantastic prizes from a host of top Southampton businesses including The Mayflower Theatre, God’s House Tower, Westquay Shopping Centre and The Mercure Dolphin Hotel, all to be enjoyed once the city is able to welcome visitors again.
The campaign has been initiated by GO! Southampton, the city centre’s Business Improvement District (BID), which manages the Visit Southampton website and social media channels in partnership with Southampton City Council.
Giles Semper, Executive Director at GO! Southampton said: “During these uncertain times, it is more important than ever to come together and celebrate what a fantastic city we have.
“Whilst it is vital that we all comply with the current regulations and stay at home, we’re keen to harness the power of social media and celebrate everything good about Southampton. We look forward to seeing people’s photo entries, from images that capture the city’s rich history and culture to selfies taken at iconic Southampton events.
“Our ‘welcome back’ package of prizes will give our winner some great things to look forward to once the current restrictions are lifted.”
