Southampton residents and visitors are being invited to take part in a festive walking trail this Christmas.
The Christmas Time Trail will take place between 21 December and 5 January and will see participants embark on a merry quest – packed with clues – in order to solve an important Christmas conundrum.
The theme of the family-friendly trail is the concept of time and will magically tie in with two of Southampton’s leading festive theatre productions: CinderELLA at the NST and Peter Pan at the Mayflower.
The free event is the latest school holiday trail from GO! Southampton, the city’s Business Improvement District, and is designed to encourage participants to explore new parts of the city.
GO Southampton’s Executive Director Giles Semper says: “The Christmas Time Trail is a great opportunity for families to get together and explore a different or potentially new part of the city.
As we all know this time of year can pull on the purse-strings which is why we wanted to put on a fun, free and festive event again that everyone can enjoy – with an extra little present for the children at the end of the trail.”
For those wishing to join in the fun, maps will be delivered to local schools and will also be available for collection from the Central Library, The Co-Operative Food (Mayflower Halls) and the Westquay and Marlands Shopping Centre information points
Those who have completed the trail will be able to take their completed maps to the final destination to claim a free festive prize for all the children taking part. Please note that the trail times are 10am-4pm daily. Prizes cannot be collected on Christmas Day or Boxing Day.
