GO! Southampton supports 2020 Hospitality Awards

The 2019/2020 Hospitality Awards returns for its second year designed to celebrate the success and accomplishments from both individuals and teams from hotels and venues throughout the Southampton region. Orgainised by the Southampton Region Hoteliers Association, areas of recognition include customers service, guest satisfaction and market growth.

GO! Southampton are sponsoring the ‘Top Team Of The Year’ Award in which looks for teams working in the hotel industry, who provide excellent customer service by working together and communicating effectively with both each other and their customers.

Giles Semper, Executive Director of GO! Southampton acknowledges the significance of these awards, “The Hospitality Awards is a fantastic opportunity to showcase some of the top hotels and venues across the city and give recognition to people who are going the extra mile. We are delighted to be sponsoring the Top Team of The Year award as we understand the importance of teamwork especially within the Hospitality industry.”

Arjan Sahota, CEO of Cab My Ride, the Headline Sponsor for the awards said, “Following the success of last year we are proud to sponsor the awards for the 2nd year running. These awards mean a lot to Cab My Ride as they celebrate the hospitality stars of the community and shout about how Southampton and the region are working together to create a city people love to visit!”

Chair of the Southampton Region Hoteliers Association Nathan Chart, highlights the importance of support from local businesses “We are very fortunate to have local businesses supporting the awards – headline sponsor, category sponsors, media support, staging, entertainment, photography, printing, catering, venue… the list goes on. Without their support we wouldn’t be able to celebrate the Hospitality industry in this way and we are extremely thankful for their involvement.”

The Awards not only aim to promote the hospitality industry and reward the individuals who go above and beyond in their jobs but also to raise money for charity.
A portion of the ticket sales are donated to the UK’s largest food waste charity, FareShare. They work with a number of food businesses across the UK to help divert food that would otherwise end up in landfill and redistribute it to those who need it most. Surplus food will go to smaller charities and community groups who then give it to the most vulnerable people in need from school breakfast clubs to domestic violence refugees. Last year’s awards enabled the Association to provide £2,000 for the charity.
