GO! Southampton is launching a spring-themed walking trail to encourage families in Southampton to get outdoors and explore the city’s key locations and green spaces this Easter holiday from 8-20 April.
The free trail will take families to popular hotspots in and around central Southampton as well as to Palmerston Park, where they will be able to put their sleuthing skills to the test and search for hidden clues to crack the Easter holiday trail.
When they’ve completed the trail, families can claim a special prize at traditional tea lounge ChariTeas, located in the Marlands Shopping Centre. There, children of all ages and interests will also be able to enjoy additional craft activities.
Heidi Isa, marketing and events director at GO! Southampton, said: “We’re delighted to launch a brand new trail for families, which will allow them to explore Southampton’s exciting array of shops and venues as well as its green spaces.
“Our previous trails have proven to be hugely popular with families. More than 1,000 children took part in our February half term trail. We hope to encourage just as many – if not more – to go out and explore the city this Easter holiday.”
GO! Southampton has also teamed up with the City Council’s grounds team to give green-fingered children the chance to plant their own flowers in Palmerston Park on 13 April, as well as to learn about season plants in Southampton and enjoy free craft activities.
What’s more, the city’s Business Improvement District has announced a competition for local school children to have their artwork displayed as part of a pop-up exhibition in the Marlands Shopping Centre from 14-22 April.
